Robert James Vargo, 74, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home.
He was born on November 15, 1940 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Carl and Ida (Dull) Vargo. He graduated in 1958 from Northwestern High School where he was remembered as an all-star baseball player. He was a member in the U.S. Army, actively serving in the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1964. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Wooster, Oh. In February of 1966 he met the love of his life, Sandra Kay Cline. They were married November 12 of the same year, she survives.
He also leaves behind four daughters that he loved very much, Bobbi Ann (Randall) Lee, Jennifer Michelle (Michael) Conover, both of Ilion, NY, Emily Kathleen Vargo of Camas, WA, and Megan Lee (Jason) Richards of Gresham, OR. In addition he is survived by nine grandchildren, Brandon and Keira Lee, Mackenzie, Bridget, and Grady Conover all of Ilion, NY, Caden Long and Colin Cowsert of Camas, WA, and Jayden and Jackson Richards of Gresham, OR, sisters Vicki Norris and Kristen (Gary) Robinson, both of Wadsworth, OH, mother-in-law Golda Cline of Wooster, OH, brothers-in-law, James (Barbara) Cline of Wooster, OH, Larry (Claudia) Cline of Portland, OR, sister-in-law, Sandy Cline of Wooster, OH, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceed in death by parents Carl and Ida Vargo, father-in-law Clarence Cline, brothers-in-law W. Ray Cline Sr. and Fred Cline Sr., and niece Bonnie Moore.
Vistation will be held Monday September 28, 2015, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, 9560 Acme Rd, Seville, OH 44273. The memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held at Williamette National Cemetery, Portland, OR at a later date.
