Robert "Bob" Long

Robert “Bob” W. “Emo” Long, 83, of Apple Creek, died Friday, February 23, 2018 at his home with his wife by his side, after an extended illness.

Friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian White officiating. Bob was born July 10, 1934 in Rittman, Ohio to Carl and Eva {Carter} Long.

He married Wenda Nesbitt-Black on March 2, 2002.

Bob was a truck driver for Wayne Steel for many years, and retired in 2000. He was a member of Parkview Christian Church. He collected Santa Clauses and model cars.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife; children Robert Long Jr. of Mansfield, Anthony Long of Stone Creek; stepchildren W. Lee Black of Baltimore, Christine Carter of Big Prairie and Michael Black of Mingo Junction; grandchildren Bridget May of Pleasantville, Brandi Nestor of Lancaster, Brooke Black of Baltimore, Hailee and Joshua Carter, both of Big Prairie, Pacee Miller of Big Prairie and Kaige Black of Mingo Junction; great-grandchildren Braxten Black and Harley May of Pleasantville and Sonny Nestor of Lancaster.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Karen Lumbatis, second wife Dolores Blankenship, as well as his brothers Donald, Raymond, Kenneth, Earl “Jess” and Clyde Long.

Special thanks to the Parkview Christian Church family for the meals, visits, prayers and cards.  Also to Dr. Kwok, Dr. Jodi Hannan and the nurses, aides and wonderful volunteers of LifeCare that made Bob comfortable to the last day.
