Roy Daniel Parsons, 60, of Orrville, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic, after battling a long illness.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Glenn Griffith officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Roy was born March 28, 1957 in Charleston, West Virginia to Lloyd and Willadean {Parsons} Rhodes.
He graduated from Orrville High School in 1977.
He married Elizabeth Moore on March 6, 1981.
Roy worked at Quality Castings since 1975 and was a proud foundry man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and spending Saturday's playing poker with his brothers-in-law. Roy was known to have built and raced many cars, was self-taught and could fix almost anything. He would always take the time to help anyone in need. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
Roy will be deeply missed by his wife Libby of 36 years; children Sarah (Randall) McGrew of Rittman and Marissa (Travis Pethtel) Parsons of Maryland; grandchildren Allison Arnold, Reece and Tori McGrew; mother Willadean of West Virginia; sisters Deanna Rhodes and Dianna (Perry) Barnett both of West Virginia; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; beloved friends Michael Trowbridge, John Cyrus and Dave Holdren and many friends from Quality Castings.
Roy was preceded in death by his father.
