Roy J. Yoder, 79, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, October 14, 2021, in his sleep at his residence.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Walter officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Roy was born May 29, 1942, at home in Millersburg, Ohio to John H. and Emma {Miller} Yoder.
He had been married to Linda {Flickinger} Yoder. Roy worked for Babcox and Wilcox in Barberton where he earned his electrician certification. He then went into business with his brother, William Miller drilling oil and gas wells under BilRoy Drilling (he said this was the best time of his working life). He retired from RexRoth in Wooster. He was a faithful watcher of Sheppard’s Chapel. Roy loved listening to bluegrass and gospel music, and enjoyed playing cards, especially Rummy.
Roy will be deeply missed by his son Heath (Annet) Yoder of Wooster; grandchildren Araiyah and Arnan Yoder; sister Esther Stutzman of Millersburg.
Roy was preceded in death by his siblings Emanuel Yoder, Melvin Yoder, William Miller, and Lizzie Yoder (stillborn).
