Ruby Martha Scarberry, 93, of Ashland, died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Good Shepherd.
Ruby was born January 27, 1919 in Smithville to Hugh W. and Ida Loretta (Collins) Stephenson. In 1971, she married Oscar Scarberry, who preceded her in death in 1979. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She worked for the Ashland Municipal Court and Ashland County Common Pleas court, retiring after 15 years of service. She was a member of the Emblem Club.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Jacqueline (John) Long of Ashland, and Kathleen (Thomas) Gardner of Vermilion, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and numerous great-great grandchildren; and her brother, George (Dawn) Stephenson.
Ruby was preceded in death by her first husband, John H. Lougeay in 1963; grandson, John Philip Long; brother, P.H. Stephenson; sisters, Pearl Ludwig, Betty Orne and Birdie Hartman.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, 1058 US Rte 250, with Pastor Julie Thoms officiating.
