Russell Irvin McDermott

Russell Irvin McDermott, 79, of Wooster, died Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Wooster Community Hospital, in Wooster.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.  Services will follow at 3:00 p.m.at the funeral home with Pastor Daron Butler officiating. Russell was born July 21, 1942, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Russell and Ethel {Burdett} McDermott.

Russell graduated from Wooster High School in 1960.

He married Kathy Nickelson on January 11, 2006. 

Russell worked for Ford Motor for over twenty years.  He was a Christian. Russell loved to play pool; he was a member of the Medina Pool League.  The most important thing in Russell’s life was his family and friends, including his fur babies.

Russell will be deeply missed by his wife Kathy; children Rusty (Patty) McDermott, Sherry Allen, and Kathleen (Don) Powell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Gretchen (Gary) Lovett; and fur babies Willie and Sassy.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Dorothy Neer.
