Russell Harvey Seitter, 84, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, March 2, 2020 at Knox Community Hospital, in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Russell was born April 23, 1935 in Prospect, Ohio to Homer Harvey and Anna L. {Collmer} Seitter. In 1950 he became the foster child of Don and Erma Colopy of Mount Vernon.
He graduated from Cardington High School in 1954. On February 2, 1955 he joined the United States Air Force. He retired on February 28,1975. On October 1, 1976 he married Georgene Brienza, she passed away on July 24, 1999.
In 1975 Russell was hired by the Mount Vernon school system as a bus driver. He drove for 24 years, and also managed the Skateland Roller Rink for 10 years. Russell had many hobbies, including wood working and square dancing.
Russell will be deeply missed by his children Sharon, Melinda, Teresa, Manda, DeeDee, and Michele; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his foster parents; his children Jamie, Robin and Rosa; his sisters Edna, Hazel, and Ester; and his brother Jack.
Friends may call Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
