Ruth I. Groves

Ruth I. Groves, 91, of Orrville, died Thursday, July 7, 2022, at home with her family.

Friends may call Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Ruth was born November 19, 1930, in Waynesburg, PA to John Guy and Anna {Eberle} Hopton.

She married Dallas Groves on August 12, 1950.  He passed in February of 1990.

Ruth was a dedicated Homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, golfing, and participating in the silver sneakers club at YMCA of Orrville. Ruth was also a member of the Main Street Church of Christ.

Ruth will be deeply missed by her children Vickie (Ashley) Morris of Copley, Sharon (Randy) Saurer, grandchildren Rodney Miller, Angie Clark, Joni Groves, Jesse Saurer, Jeremy Groves, Heather Groves, brother Robert Hopton of Rittman and many great- grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Rodney Miller, Angie Clark, Jesse Saurer, Curtis Harris, Mark Clark, Jeno Norris, Joe Kimberlin, and Erik Souder.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Cecil, Clyde, Wilfred, Clifford Hopton, son Monte, an infant son, an infant daughter, and grandson Sam.
