Ruth Wagers

RUTH ELAINE WAGERS (FALB), 71, of Port Richey, Florida left this world for everlasting life on October 14, 2013. Ruth was born in Orrville, Ohio April 5, 1942, daughter of the late Mylon Falb and Saloma (Smucker) Falb. On December 29, 1963 she married Rex Eugene Wagers in Smithville, OH and he survives.
Ruth was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1960. Ruth began working at the Rubbermaid Plant in Wooster, Ohio then as a teller at The Orrville Savings Bank, Orrville, Ohio. Ruth and Rex moved to Avon Park, Florida and then Marion, Ohio as Ruth stayed at home to raise her two boys. After a family move to Kingsport, Tennessee, Ruth became employed with the Kingsport Press, Kingsport, Tennessee and then as Office Manager for the Junior League of Kingsport and Grief Bros. Corporation both of Kingsport, Tennessee. Ruth then retired with her husband Rex in 2000 to their home in Port Richey, Florida.
Ruth was an active member of the Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tennessee singing in the Sanctuary Choir and teaching Children's Sunday School before her retirement. Once settling in Port Richey, Ruth and Rex became members of the First United Methodist Church in Hudson, Florida, where she was active in the food pantry, ministries to the homeless of her community as well as many other ministries through her dedicated years of service for her Lord.
Her interests were playing the organ, baking, knitting, basket weaving, sewing and serving others. Ruth was invested in raising her family and making sure they knew of faith in Jesus Christ. As a way to reach out to her community, she would bake every Christmas a kitchen full of cookies, candies and assorted baked goods to create plates and platters to distribute to all her neighbors, friends and shut-ins.
Surviving are two dearly loved sons of whom she was so proud, Ryan Eugene Wagers of Salisbury, North Carolina and Ross Eric (Deana) Wagers of Greenville, South Carolina. Ruth is also survived by two grandchildren, Dustin Jonathan Wagers and Kaitlyn Elaine Wagers and two sisters Lorene (Gordon) Amstutz and Lois (Lynn) Newcomer. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Mylon Falb, mother, Saloma (Smucker) Falb, brothers, Marion Falb, Larry Falb and sister, Lucille Mast.
The family will gather with friends at Roberts Funeral Home Sherwood Garden's Chapel in Wooster, Ohio on October 28, 2013 at 2:00p.m. a Memorial Service at 3:00p.m. with inurnment to follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens , Wooster, Ohio.
Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider monetary or nonperishable food gifts to the Food Pantry Ministry of the First United Methodist Church, Hudson, Florida or Hernado Pasco Hospice of Pasco County Florida in Ruth's memory.
