Sandra Elder

Sandra Lee Elder, 83, has passed away at home surrounded by family and friends after a prolonged illness.

Sandra and her identical twin, Sally, were born September 5, 1936 at their home in Marietta, Ohio to Harry and Naomi Smith. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1954. Sandra married Barry Lee Elder, Sr. on July 5, 1958. Together, they raised two children Carrie Lee Elder and Barry Lee Elder, Jr. She was a homemaker and volunteered in her community; her favorite being Marietta Home Hospice.

She is survived by two sisters, Sally Wesel and Susan Smith of Marietta; daughter Carrie Lee Elder (Alan Beddingfield), son Barry "Chip" Lee Elder Jr. (Julie Schneider). Sandra has three granddaughters, Paige Helbich (Hobie), Samantha McClelland and Erin McClelland; and step grandchildren Kelsie Schneider, Karson and Kole Schneider. Her nieces and nephews include Eric Sandstrom (Anne), Kurt Sandstrom, Sandi Shea (John Martin), Jenny Phillips and several great nephews and a great niece.

Funeral service will be Friday, January 10 at 11 AM with visitation beginning at 10 AM  at Roberts Funeral Home, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta 45750.
