Sara Fox

Sara J. Fox, 81, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Summa Hospital in Akron following a brief illness.

Friends may call Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.  Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Barrios officiating.  Burial will be Wednesday at noon at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord.   Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.   Memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Schools Career Center, Attn: Family Literacy, 518 W. Sara was born January 10, 1941, in New Concord, Ohio to Leland and Glenna {Gibson} Watson. Sara earned her Bachelor and master’s Degrees in education from Ashland University.

She met Walt Fox when she was working for First National Bank in New Concord, when he deposited a two-dollar check in her teller line just so he could meet her. She married Walt on June 1, 1963. He survives.

Sara worked for Southeast Local Schools and the Wayne County adult education programs helping adults earn their GEDs. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Sara was a true lover of people; she never met a stranger. In her younger years, she played tennis, enjoyed skiing, and lived in various places in Texas, Oklahoma, and throughout Ohio. She loved hosting parties and had many groups of friends.

Sara loved nature, her flowers, gardening, and recently discovered a love of water aerobics.

Sara will be deeply missed by her husband, Walt; daughters Christina (Brian) Reilly and Cassandra Fox all of Chicago, IL; grandchild Maura Reilly; sister Martha Babcock of Coshocton.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Glenn, Roy, Clyde, Kenny, Dean, Richard Watson, Lena May Claypool, and Carolyn Green.
