Shelvie Jean Phillips

Shelvie Jean Whited Phillips, age 85, of Newark, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 28, 2024. Born November 17, 1938, in Russell County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Crockett and Jeanette Cordill Whited. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Mason D. Phillips; six brothers, Howard Whited, Clarence Whited, Alfred Whited, Damon Whited, Ballard Whited, and Hurley Whited; two sisters, Exie Baldwin and Pansy Phillips; and daughter-in-law, Debbie Miller Phillips. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Connie (Don) Mullin of Spring Hill, Florida, David Phillips of Steubenville, Ohio, and Theresa (John) Laurell of Newark, Ohio; grandchildren Kevin (Jennifer) McDowell, Eric McDowell, Dana (Dayna) Phillips, James (Christina) Phillips, Kurt (Valene) Thayer, and Jessica (Andy) Kuntzman; 6 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lillie Bostic; and many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, 18260 Coshocton Rd, Mount Vernon, OH 43050, Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
