Sherry Smith

Sherry Smith, 56, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Thursday October 10th, 2024, at her home, in Mount Vernon.

Sherry was born April 17th, 1968 in Mount Vernon, OH, to Stanley Edward Knox and Helen Jane {Dotson]} Sherrill, both deceased. 

She married Tom Smith on April 7th, 1988. She was the most positive person and found good in everyone. She was a rock to many people. The family will miss her dearly. She is irreplaceable. Now God has the best Angel he has ever taken. Rest in Peace my love. We will meet again. She loved to shoot, and was good at it! A great cook, she could make nearly any kind of meal but especially the pumpkin bars, zucchini bread and pumpkin pie. She decorated all the birthday cakes and even baby shower cakes. She loved children. Her eyes lit up when a baby was in the room, and she had to hold the baby no matter whose kid it was. She was a nurturing mother and everyone’s favorite aunt. She called herself “the young ‘hip’ granny.” She was a self-starter willing to take on any task in front of her no matter how large. 

Sherry will be deeply missed by her husband; children Ashley Ryan (Eddie) Kean, Matthew C. Smith, Colsen Knuckles, and her grandson Anthony Ryan Kean as well as her sister Cindy (David) Waite. 

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life for Sherry will be held, October 26th 2024, at the Community Christian Fellowship, 23436 Newcastle Road, Gambier OH 43022.  Doors open at 10:00 am  Service follows at 11:00 am.  After the service there will be a meal at the church for anyone who wants to join with the family.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
