Shirley Chacey

Shirley Jean Chacey, 78, of Greenwich, died Monday, April 4, 2022, at University Hospital, in Ashland.

Shirley was born December 3, 1943, in Olivesburg, Ohio to Marcus George and Lucy May {Eldridge} McCormick.

When Shirley was babysitting Alvin Chacey’s niece and nephew, they fell in love.  Three years later she married Alvin on June 11, 1960.

For most of her life, Shirley was a devoted homemaker. They attended Adario Church of Christ and Clear Creek Church of Christ. She loved cooking breakfast, and taking care of all the family, including the dogs.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her husband Alvin; children Terry (Julie) Chacey, Marcus (Stefanie) Chacey, and Christina; grandchildren Terry Jr, Scott, Bryna, Makenna, Faith, Joshua, Derrick, Marcus, Keegan, Kaitlin, and Calvin; three great-grandchildren; sister Lucille; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Mark, Jim, Chuck, and John; and sister Gertrude.

Friends may call Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Beal officiating.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
