Shirley McCort

Shirley Ann McCort, 75, of Burbank, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Friends may call Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.  Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Evangelist Jerry Toothman officiating.  Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.

Shirley was born August 4, 1943 in Smithville to Lloyd and Pauline {Suppes} Alleman.

Shirley was a 1961 graduate of River High School.

She married Mark McCort on January 30, 1966.

She worked as a seamstress at Jacquelyn Specialties until the birth of her first child. At that time, she chose to stay home to raise her children. She was completely devoted to her family.   Shirley loved children, and in addition to taking care of her own, she also enjoyed babysitting. For many years, she cared for Stephanie (Reynolds) Church and Melanie Reynolds. She considered them part of her family. Shirley was a loving grandmother and helped care for her grandchildren. She was a member of the Rittman Church of Christ.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her husband, Mark, of 53 years; children Becky (Kevin) Draper and Mike (Kristen) McCort both of Wooster; grandsons Ben Draper and Lucas McCort; sister Jean (Bill) Mowder; brother Ronald Alleman; and nieces and nephews.
