Shirley A. Nichols, 70, of Ashland, died Saturday, April 4, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio at 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, OH 44805 or Lupus Foundation of Greater Ohio at 12930 Chippewa Rd., Suite 4, Brecksville, OH 44141.
Shirley was born September 20, 1944 in St. Petersburg, FL. She was raised by Fred and Adele Mathewson. Shirley's birth mother was Helen Fenn.
She married William G. Nichols on April 1, 1967.
She worked at Gainesville Iron Works in Gainesville, FL for over eight years. Shirley enjoyed reading, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her "grandbabies."
Shirley will be deeply missed by children Charles Nichols of Ravenna, Tammy Seibert of Fort Meyers Beach, FL, Sherryl Saffle of Ashland, Melvin Nulph Jr. of Dixon, MO, Connie (Bill) Dillard of Polk and William G. Nichols Jr. of Nova; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers David (Margie) Mathewson of Arcadia, FL, James Miller of Wadsworth, Ed Mathewson of Crossville, TN and Lee Mathewson Port Charlotte, FL; sisters Dolores Hearn of Gainesville, FL, Jackie Smith of Wooster, Nellie Troutman of Archer, FL and Brenda Mathewson of Indiantown, FL.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William, and two sisters Janine Pangrac and Marion Humphries.
