Shirley J. Root, 78, of Wooster, died June 3, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital following a reoccurrence of pancreatic cancer.
Shirley was born October 9, 1935 in Wooster to Ira and Ethel {Miller} Morr.
She married Lloyd Root on May 26, 1955. He died on March 17, 1987.
Shirley retired from Campbell Construction in 2000 after 14 years. She was a member of Parkview Christian Church. She was involved in Widows and Widowers and enjoyed volunteering at the Friendtique Store for 10 years.
Shirley will be deeply missed by children Randal (Diann) Root, Rod Root, Joyce Ray, Kathleen (Michael) Slutz and Kevin (Michelle) Root; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Larry (Brenda) Morr and sister Carolyn Geiser.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, of 31 years, grandson Brian Root, daughter-in-law Denise Root, son-in-laws Mark Martin and Michael Ray, brothers Lester, Wilbur and Ira Morr, and sisters Lois, Dorothy, and Freida Hofacker.
