Sue Stephens

Sue (Anderson) Stephens, 73, formerly of Marietta, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina from ALS. Sue was born May 25, 1946 in Corliss, West Virginia, to Roscoe and Bertie (Pettry) Anderson. She married James Stephens on November 26, 1965. Sue worked as a receptionist for Dr. Howe for many years and loved her involvement in horse racing that came along with that job. After moving to Waterford, she worked at Amy’s Flower Shoppe, which would be her last full-time employment. Sue loved the people she got to know through working at the flower shop. Jim’s job took them to Lancaster, Ohio for a few years, but later they moved back to Marietta and settled in Oak Grove. There they became involved in the Fort Harmar Rifle Club. Sue found her greatest joys in time spent at the range with Jim. After Jim passed in 2015, Sue lived in Illinois, Florida, and South Carolina, where she passed.

Sue will be missed by her daughter, Tanya (Clay) Robinson of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Corinna, Matthew, Carmen, Harris, and Wren Robinson; brother Wiley (Janet) Anderson; and sisters Neva (Charles) Heller, and Reva Sims.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband James, parents, and brother Roscoe Anderson, Jr.

Friends and family may call from 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Roberts Funeral Home – East Lawn Chapel, 27880 State Route 7, Marietta. A private memorial service for close family will be held at a later time. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Park. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, Sue preferred contributions be made to the Fort Harmar Rifle Club and that friends would vote Trump 2020.
