Theodore Lakin

Theodore Charles Lakin, 72, of Toledo, formerly of Maine, died Sunday, December 4, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital, in Maumee.
Theodore was born March 7, 1944 in Portland, Maine to Edson and Maude {Weeman} Lakin.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, Desert Storm and the Panama Canal Negotiations.
He married Gail Irwin in 1987. They parted ways but maintained a friendship throughout the years following.
After retiring from the military in 1991, Theodore worked at Sunrise Senior Living as kitchen staff. He enjoyed watching movies and taking long walks.
Theodore will be deeply missed by his children Christy (Gregory Collins) Lakin of Columbus, Eddie (Tiffany) Lakin of Monroe, Theodore Lakin II, Deborah (Gregory) Sheffield, Tamara Mertens, Timothy Lakin and Jennifer Lakin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother John Lakin; sister Pamela Foster.
Theodore was preceded in death by his brothers Paul, Lee and Edson Lakin.
Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Roberts Funeral Home – Hillcrest Chapel, Wadsworth is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Roberts Funeral Home at P.O. Box 586, Wadsworth, OH 44282.
