Thomas Malone

Thomas Wayne Malone, 79, of Smithville, died Friday, December 31, 2021 at Akron City Hospital from injuries sustained from a fall at home.

Tom was born March 29, 1942 in Coshocton to Harold S. and Ruth I. {Balyeat} Malone.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jan; daughters Kelly (Jeff) Nash of Zanesville, Kimberly (Tim) Robinson of Granville, and Colleen (John) Lerch of Medina; grandchildren Megan (Sean), Emily, Zachery, Molly, Anthony (Jessica), Anna, Madeline, Delaney, and Andrew; great-granddaughter Penelope; sister Susan of Canton and nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry.

After his retirement, Tom worked part-time for the YMCA of Wooster as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Most recently, he volunteered at the Wooster Community Hospital. Tom loved to share his smile with people, but the most important part of his life was his family.
