Thomas "Danny" Daniel Parker Sr. was born August 11, 1943 in McCrae, Georgia to Andrew J. and Madie {Yawn} Parker. He went to be with Jesus on November 2, 2013 after a battle with Leukemia and Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife, Maria Luisa Mislang Parker. This March they celebrated 33 years together.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Curtis Parker officiating. Danny served in the U.S. Army from 1960-1984. He is a Vietnam Veteran and a recipient of many awards and medals including the Purple Heart, having been wounded three times during his military career. After 24 years of honorable service to his country, Danny became the director of food service for a government contract for over 20 years.
Danny was an accomplished chef and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He was also a hunter and an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife Maria, he is survived by his children Teresa, Tina, Danny Jr., Richard, Christina and Lee, Megan, and Jennifer, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, brothers Carl, Curtis, and Denver, sisters Jackie and Pat.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents. Although he may be gone from this earth, his memory still lives on in the hearts of his friends and family.
