Timothy Douglas Farr

September 16, 1954 — April 20, 2025

Parkersburg, West Virginia

Timothy Douglas Farr, age 70, passed away on April 20, 2025, after a long battle with kidney failure, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and legendary tales—many of which can’t be printed here but will live on around family tables for years to come.

Tim was the only son of Roy Douglas Farr and Ernestine I. Wright Farr, and is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rhonda Murphy Farr; his children, Diana Womble, James (Jenn) Farr, Candice Farr and Cordel Farr; step-children Richard Riel, GaryLee Riel, and Andrea (Scott) Shirey, several grandchildren and other family members and friends who were lucky enough to know him.

Tim was a 1974 graduate of Parkersburg South High School, proud employee of Englander Bedding, where he worked for 37 years and also served as Union President for SEIU Local 1526 for 12 years. Later, he found a second career with Roberts Funeral Home, where he brought both comfort and humor to families and his co-workers. He took his work seriously, but somehow always managed to find himself in the kinds of precarious situations that made for entertaining tales later.

Tim loved to tell stories, tolerated home improvement projects, and cherished big holiday meals, but what he loved most was simply having everyone he loved together.

The family wishes to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis in South Parkersburg for their compassion over the past year. In honoring Tim’s wishes, there will be no public service. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Roberts Funeral Home of Marietta, Ohio.
