Timothy Wayne "Tim" Kitts, 51, of Ashland, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 unexpectedly at his residence.
Tim was born March 30, 1966 in Ashland, Ohio to Donald B. and Esther E. {Light} Kitts.
He married Sherry Derexson on May 24, 2008.
Tim was a Sergeant for the Ashland County Sheriff's Office. He became a K-9 handler in 2002, currently serving with K-9 Meeko. Sgt. Kitts had earned several certifications as a trainer and was a successful drug interdiction deputy. Tim enjoyed spending time with the K-9 team.
Tim will be deeply missed by his wife Sherry of 9 years; sons Will and Thomas; mother Esther of Ashland; brothers Don (Brenda) Jr. of New London and Terry (Judy) Kitts of Ashland, uncle Kenny Light; and several nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Calvary Baptist at 210 Davis Rd, Ashland, OH 44805. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Joshua Cehulik officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park where Law Enforcement services will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of K-9 Law Dogs, 1130 East Main St. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
