Tracy Hanshaw

Tracy A. Hanshaw, 87, of Seville, died Thursday, April 29, 2021 peacefully with his family surrounding him.

Tracy was born February 22, 1934 in Valley Fork, WV to Leamon and Opal {Parker} Hanshaw.

He married Ella Samples on December 26, 1953. Tracy was a faithful husband to the love of his life for 68 years. She passed in July 2020.

Tracy worked for J & L Steel for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God. His lifelong interests included hunting, fishing, woodworking, bee keeping, playing music, singing, board games, playing cards, and the Cleveland Indians. Formerly residents of Valley Fork, WV he and Ella helped build the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. They also helped form the Hallelujah Hill Gospel Quartet which traveled throughout the state for many years.

Tracy will be deeply missed by his children Pam (Danny) Kerney of Ashtabula, Terry Hanshaw of Seville, Sandy (Walter) Warner of Spencer, Theresa (Dan) Plevny of Parma and Larry “Brooks” (Sheila) Hanshaw of Eastlake; grandchildren Scott, Tracy Lynn, Kelly, Christina, Troy, Jason, Andy, Joshua Arlen, Ben, James, Zac, Nick, and Ashley; great-grandchildren Maureen, Chase, Ezra, Silas, Hope, Nathan, Dacey, Rachel Ella, Lincoln Arlen, Brooke, and Hudson; and brother Robert (Dottie).

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his stillborn son Roger Dean, grandson Brian, nephew James Burton, and sisters Helen, Phyllis, and Lona Jane.

Friends may call Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Crossroads Assembly of God at 10220 Wooster Pike Creston, OH 44217. Funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Mike Boggs officiating.  Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
