V. Ray Buckingham

V. Ray Buckingham, 90, of Ashland, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Lutheran Village, in Ashland.

Ray was born May 7, 1933, in Pritchard, West Virginia to Lawrence and Mabel {Fortner} Buckingham.

He married Janice M. Maxwell on February 26, 1955.  She died on June 25, 2011.

Ray worked for Ohio Match and Owens Corning.  He was a member of the Eagles and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching.

Ray will be deeply missed by his children Janet Marshall and Robin Stafford both of Ashland; grandchildren Amber Stafford McCoy, Dustin Stafford, Logan (Hayley) Marshall; great-grandchild Trevor (Heaven) McCoy, Alexis McCoy, and Quentin Anderson; great great-grandchild Kort McCoy; brothers Clifford (Irma) Buckingham and James (Charlotte) Buckingham; sisters Fern Marcum and Geraldine Boyes.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice, grandson in law Shane McCoy, and brother Larry (Norma) Buckingham.

Friends may call Monday from 11 to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
