Verna Ruth Snyder, 86, of Orrville, died Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Shadylawn Health Care Community in Dalton after 4 months of declining health.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Simonsen officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, 300 S. Walnut St., Orrville, Ohio 44667.
Verna was born October 28, 1928 near Kidron, Ohio to the late David and Etta {Gerber} Geiser.
She married Henry Robert Snyder on January 2, 1971. He passed away on February 8, 1999.
Verna was a homemaker and in her earlier years worked at the J.M. Smucker Company for 17 years. She enjoyed putting puzzles together for MCC Connections, gardening and playing games with her brothers and sisters. Quilting was her most enjoyable work to do. She had made over 100 quilts in her lifetime. Embroidering was also a favorite past time, as well as doing word searches. Verna was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Orrville and enjoyed the church's sewing group, which she attended faithfully every month.
Verna will be deeply missed by her two brothers Dennis(Amy)Geiser and David Geiser both of Dalton; three sisters Anna Neuenschwander of Orrville, Ella Amstutz of Apple Creek and Laura Tennefoss of Greenwood, Delaware; one sister-in-law, Zella Geiser of Wooster; step-brother Donald (Roberta) Christner of Oregon.
Verna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Clair, Lloyd, Roy, Samuel and Daniel Geiser and sister Lavina Bissler.
