Verna "Sissy" Boss

Verna “Sissy” Boss, 72, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital.

Sissy was born January 17, 1948 in Minden, West Virginia to Albert and Mabel {Tincher} Lawhorn.

She married Greg Boss in 1992.

Sissy worked for Volvo in Orrville and then West View Manor Nursing Home before retiring in 2019. She was a member of Mount Zion Church of God and attended Grace Church. She cherished spending time with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sissy will be deeply missed by her husband; daughters Helen Marie (Larry) Schemrich of Creston and Peggy Sue (Bill) Bartram of Apple Creek; grandchildren Cortney English, Jonathan English, Crystal Fincham, Gretchen (Jared) Weaver, Alyssa Schemrich, and Michael Schemrich; 15 great-grandchildren; brother Tommy (Beth) Lawhorn; sisters Peggy Lawhorn and Sue (Bill) Woods; and many nieces and nephews.

Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Moe and Paul Lawhorn, and a great-grandaughter Angel Selene Schemrich.

Sissy lived her life serving God and loving all her family very deeply. She will be missed.
