Virginia Casto

Virginia Eileen Casto, 78, of Mount Vernon, died Friday, January 1, 2021, at Echo Manor, in Pickerington, Ohio.

Virginia was born September 2, 1942, in Mount Vernon to Robert and Nellie {Stiers} Shannon.

Virginia graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1961.  She worked for many years as a caregiver in nursing homes, until she retired in 2010 from Ohio Eastern Star.  She loved traveling, shopping, dining out, and spending time with her family.

Virginia will be deeply missed by her daughter Kimberly (Andrew) Humbert of Reynoldsburg; brother Robert (Pearlie) Shannon, and many nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband William Doup, sisters Leora Williams, Louise Beckholt, and Roberta Gorsuch.

Friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home.  Burial will be private at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
