Virginia Hazel Kemp, 94, of Ashland, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Wesley Ridge, in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Virginia was born January 1, 1924 in Ashland, Ohio to Earnest Allsworth and Esther Rachel {Hawk} Jordan.
She married Ralph Kissel in 1943. He died serving his country in WWII. She then married Virgil B. Kemp on August 28, 1948. He died March 22, 1998.
Virginia was a member of the First Church of the Brethren. She volunteered her time at Samaritan Hospital and Hospice of North Central. Virginia was a board member of her condo association, co-chairman of the social committee and chairman of the Ashland County Parkinson support group. After moving to Wesley Ridge Assisted Living in 2009, she became involved in the welcoming committee and volunteered in the ice cream parlor.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her children Kenneth (Donna) Kissel of Sun City, AZ, Claudia Williams of Reynoldsburg and Terrie Hastings of Kennesaw, GA; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands, and 5 brothers.
Friends may call Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
