June 12, 1938 — February 19, 2016

W. David Horner, 77, of Ashland, went home to heaven to meet Jesus on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Hospice of North Central Ohio, after a short illness.
David was born June 12, 1938 in Hillsboro, NC to Joseph and Ruby {Bullock} Horner.
He married Jone Lee Harned on September 26, 1967.
Upon arriving in Ohio, David worked on a dairy farm in Spencer, Ohio as well as a machinist at Spencer Axel. Moving to the Ashland area in 1967, he began working at Hydromatic Pump Co. where he worked for over 20 years. He then retired from Hydromatic to start his own carpentry/plumbing business then retiring completely in 2010. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ashland. David loved being with family and friends. He was a passionate gardener. David loved to hunt especially with his granddaughters. He was an avid NASCAR fan and bee keeper.
David will be deeply missed by his wife of 48 years; children Mary (Tim) Robinson of Ashland, Michael Horner of Spencer and Mark Horner of Lodi; granddaughters Blessing Marie Robinson and Promise Belle-Louise Robinson; brothers Joseph Horner, Harvey Horner and George Horner.
David was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Friends may call Friday, February 26th from 10 to 12 p.m. at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Rd, Mansfield, OH 44905. Services will be held immediately following at 12 p.m. at the church with Past Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Inurnment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life Service for David will also be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church at 320 Church St., Ashland, OH 44805 or Hospice of North Central Ohio at 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, OH 44805.
