Walter Ray Hollandsworth, 79, of Ashland, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Hospice of North Central Ohio.
Walter was born September 3, 1936 in Sutton, West Virginia to Daniel Dayton and Mary Ethel {Beckner} Hollandsworth.
He married Mary J. {Carpenter} on October 22, 1955.
He retired from the Lorain Steel Mill after 30 years. He attended Sullivan Christian Church. He was a member of Car Coddlers and he loved hunting, fishing, farming and spending time with his family.
Walter will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary, of 60 years; children Larry Ray (Connie) Hollandsworth of Sullivan, Terry Jay (Kim) Hollandsworth of Ashland, Deb Jane Bailey of Mansfield, Tammy Lynn (Jim) Mitchell of Ashland and Wayne (Guin) Gregory of Sullivan; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers Lee (Joann) Hollandsworth of Columbus and Ralph (Sonya) Hollandsworth of South Dakota; sisters May, Barbara and Lou.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, Robert, Cecil and Joe.
Services will be Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Friends may call prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery in Sullivan, Ohio.
