Walter Schnabel

Walter James Schnabel (Jim), 81, of Marietta, passed away comfortably in his home on Thursday, May 10th 2018.

Jim was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School Class of 1957. He attended the National Hardwood Lumber Association School in Memphis, Tennessee and became a National Lumber Inspector at Schnabel Lumber in Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

He later moved to Williamstown, WV where he raised his family and worked for Haron and Son Lumber Co. in Woodsfield, OH for many years.

Jim enjoyed watching Nascar, trail walking, playing cards on Friday nights and His beloved cat Patches.

Jim was preceded in death by his Parents Paul and Helen and Sisters Betty and Carol.

Jim will be deeply missed by his children Sandra, Jim (Mindy), Tim (Elke) and Angela (Ken), His 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

His kids would like to express the deepest Thank You to His dearest friend Phyllis Brake who has always been there for him for many years. Your friendship was a true Blessing to our Dad.

We will have a life celebration at his daughter’s home 111 Mound Dr., Marietta, OH Sunday May 20th from 1-4. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donation be made to the Marietta Humane Society
