Walter “Ike” Brenneman, 82, of Wooster, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 at The Avenue.
Friends may call Thursday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Boucher officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Ike was born February 16, 1937 in Wooster to Leonard Otto and Dorothy {Ewing} Brenneman.
He attended Wooster High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from July 1954 through December 1957.
He married Effie Byers. She passed away in 2003. He then spent his last years with Charlotte Hutchinson, who preceded him in death in 2017.
Ike worked for Rubbermaid for over 30 years. He enjoyed restoring cars and attending car shows and swap meets. Ike was a member of the Cruisers Car Club of Wooster, and served as President during his membership.
Walter will be deeply missed by his children Richard (Sharon) Brenneman of OR, Todd (Jackie Yoder) Brenneman of Shreve and Lisa (Frank) Berger of Wooster; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Brenneman and sister Betty Westover.
