Watson Neal Penrod, 81, of Ashland, died Saturday, October 13, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.
Watson was born January 28, 1937 in Parkersburg, WV to Howard Watson and Beulah Agnes{West} Penrod.
He graduated from Mansfield Sr. High School. Watson joined the National Guard in 1954.
He married Donna Terry on August 10, 1970.
He retired from General Motors in 2002. He was the founder and Owner of Mechcom Dot Net. Watson was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge #151, Baku Grotto in Mansfield, King Cyrus Chapter #207 Royal Arch and Ashland American Legion. He served in many roles in his masonic service which included High Priest of Ashland Chapter #67 for many years, Illustrious Master of Ashland Council Royal and Select, 4th Arch Adjutant, 4th Arch Inspector and Grand Aide to Grand Illustrious Master. Watson owned and piloted airplanes, racing cars, and spending time on the family farm.
Watson will be deeply missed by his wife; children Howard (Angie) Penrod of NC, Doug Plaster of Ashland, Debbie (Dan) Davis of FL, Greg (Missy) Plaster of Ashland, Samantha (Curt) Mechling of Ashland; grandchildren Christopher, Isaiah, Lora, Ciarra, Phillip, Nicoletta and Dillion; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Aayla; brother Glenn (Jean) Penrod.
Watson was preceded in death by his son Watson Penrod Jr.
Friends may call Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Memorial services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
