Wayne Surls

Wayne Alan Surls, 64, of Wooster, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the Wooster Community Hospital.Wayne was born September 25, 1957 in Alliance to Harry C. and Gloria {Cohagen} Surls.

He worked at Midwest Innovations in Wooster.

Wayne was loved by everyone he met and that assisted caring for him. He had a great sense of humor. Wayne’s favorite thing to do was to eat at the Green Leaf restaurant and spending time with his long-time housemates. Wayne was a social butterfly. He loved to dance and sing his favorite song “You are my sunshine”. Wayne loved to go camping, shopping, swimming and bowling. Wayne also enjoyed walking at the OARDC to smell the roses. He will be missed by all his care givers at Outreach Community Living Services, Inc especially Carolyn who watched Wayne when he was child as well. Wayne has a special friend from childhood, Linda, who religiously called Wayne every Sunday to chat about his week and would send him gift cards to go get ice cream.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Jake Lawson officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster.
