Roy Brown

Wm. Roy Brown Jr., 77, of Wooster, lost his battle with Parkinson’s Disease on November 8, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.

Friends may call Sunday November 20, 2022 from 4 to 5pm. at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 5 p.m. at the church with Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating.  Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Roy was born April 27, 1945, in Bellaire, Ohio to William Roy Sr. and Elizabeth {Kish} Brown.

He graduated from Powhatan Point High School. After graduating from Ohio University, Roy achieved his Masters in Accounting at Xavier University.

Roy proudly served with the Americal Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He married Donna Jean Shanklin on July 10, 1971.  She survives. In 2021, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Roy worked for Cooper Bessemer, Rubbermaid Inc., and Newell. He then worked for Triway Schools as a bus driver for 18 years before retiring. In his retirement years, he owned a lawn mower repair business. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Wooster. Roy enjoyed model trains, camping, traveling around the country, and spending time with his family.

Roy will be deeply missed by his wife, Donna Jean, children Kristen (Doyle) Lavergne of Pilot, VA., Alison (Jason) Anderson of Avon Lake, and Ryan Brown of Goode, VA; grandchildren Madeline, Lauren, Jared, Kyle, Natalie, and Erin.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, and infant children Scott Robert Brown and Kimberly J. Brown.
