William James "Bill" Reed

William James “Bill” Reed, 85, of Polk, passed away November 25, 2022 of heart disease at Brethren Care of Ashland.

Bill was born March 21, 1937 in Wooster to Harold and Helen {Whitman} Reed.

He was a 1955 graduate of Polk High School. He enlisted in the Air Force Reserve serving 30 years and was employed at Lahm Air Force Base in Mansfield Ohio with the Fire Department.

He enjoyed visiting different restaurants in Ashland County with his buddies. Bill also loved watching boys and girls Mapleton High School Basketball.

Bill will be deeply missed by his sisters Doris (W. Dean) Welch and Barbie (Ralph) Daniels; nieces Julie (Rod) Rogers and Nancy Welch; nephews Mike (Cheryl) Welch and Tim (Kim) Daniels.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Randy Welch, Jim Welch, and Kevin Daniels, great nieces Zoe and Abby Welch.

Private Services will be at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel with great nephew, youth minister Adam Welch officiating.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
