William "Bill" David Wright, 82, of Ashland, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at his residence.
Bill was born May 26, 1930 in McClellandtown, PA, to Earl David and Ellen Rachel (Lewis) Wright. He married Karolyn J. McMurray on June 30, 1955. He served in the United States Army at the end of World War II and during the Korean war. He retired from GM after 31 years of service. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW, Amvets, and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking, and reading.
Bill will be deeply missed by his children, David (Brenda) Wright and Valerie (Marc) Sponsler, both of Ashland; grandchildren, Chris (Heather) Bahr, Jason (Lisa) Sponsler, Justin (Rhiannan) Wright, Dave (Anna) Bahr, Brittany (Doug) Eichelberger, Matt (Ember) Wright and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karolyn, in 2010, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, October 1, 2012 at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, 1058 US Rte 250. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Ashland County Memorial Park Military rites will be presented by Active duty members.
