Gary McKenna

Gary L. McKenna, 65, of Canton, died Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center.

Gary was born March 26, 1956, in Massillon to Howard and Harriet {Gatchell} McKenna.

He served in the U.S. Army for 3 years, spending a deployment in Germany.

He graduated from Northwest Highschool in 1974. Gary was a State Highway Patrolman for 35 years for Northeast Ohio. Gary was a member of Faith Family Church serving as security. He enjoyed refereeing for Wayne County high school Football. Gary also enjoyed skiing and volunteering in the ski patrol. He also loved biking, giving his family “bunny ears”, and being involved in the Boy Scouts.

Gary will be deeply missed by his; children Jonathon (Vicki), Danielle, Joshua, and Justin McKenna; grandchildren Michael; sisters Patty (Billy) Purcell and Robbi McKenna.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with  Pastor Jack Pancher officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, where military rites will be held.
