Karen L. Yoder, 74, of Orrville, died Friday, July 23, 2021, and went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Karen was a vibrant person, with an infectious laugh, a contagious joy, and a love for everyone she met. She shared her love for Jesus and hope in Him with everyone she talked to. She was an encourager, supporter, and joy to everyone around her.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service, Friday, August 6, at Greystone Event Center, 50 Riffel Rd, Wooster, OH 44691. Receiving line will begin at 10 a.m. with the service at 11 a.m. Roberts Funeral Home will be assisting with arrangements. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Karen was born March 11, 1947, in Canton, Ohio, to William H. and Miriam P. {Rockstroh} Veitch. She was a graduate of Perry High School in 1965 and Malone College in 1969 with a B.S. in Education.
She married Vernon Yoder on November 2, 1974.
Karen loved her job as a special education teacher. She taught for many years, and when she retired from teaching, she continued to invest in the children in her community through tutoring in her home and the Breakaway Released Time Christian Education program. As a founding and active member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Karen taught Sunday School & Young Adults over the years. She enjoyed singing, laughing, spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, cooking - and always enjoyed gathering with friends and family for any occasion!
Karen will be deeply missed by her husband, Vernon Yoder of Orrville; children Miriam (Matt) Cannon of Wooster, Mary (Derek) Studt of Pisgah Forest, NC; grandchildren, Chloe, Gabriella & Brock Cannon and Dylan, Kayla, & Tyler Studt ; brother Bill (Joyce) Veitch of Orrville; sisters Carole Klingaman of Canton and JoAnn Klingaman of Canton.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Edna M. Veitch.
