Alice Miller

January 15, 1923 — April 2, 2008

Alice Kathryn (Wengerd) Miller, 85, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2008 at Summa Health Systems in Akron. ?Friends may call Friday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. ?Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 at the funeral home. ??Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County, 2525 Back Orrville Rd., Wooster, OH ?44691 or to Acute Palliative Care Unit, Akron City Hospital, 525 E. Market St., P. O. Box 2090, Akron, OH ?44309.

Alice was born January 15, 1923 in Holmes County, Bunker Hill to Eli J. and Susie (Hochstetler) Wengerd. ?She worked at The Fredericksburg Art Pottery from 1941 to 1945. ?She began working at Frito Lay in 1947 retiring after 37 years of service. ?She enjoyed gardening and has sold her produce at the Community Farmers Market for many years. ?She was also an avid knitter and devised her own pattern for slippers that resembled farm tractors. ?She exhibited many knitted items through the years at the local county fairs and won numerous ribbons, including best of show. ?She enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and traveling. ?She traveled to Alaska, Hawaii and numerous continental states as well as all parts of Ohio. ?She was currently serving as the Assistant Tour Director of the Wooster Senior Tour Group. ?But this is her best trip yet...1 Corinthians 2:9 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

Surviving are sisters, Beatrice Miller, Freeda (Alvin) Gingerich both of Apple Creek, Velma (Roy) Miller of Shreve, brothers, Omar (Nettie) Wengerd of Wooster and Dallas Wengerd of Fredericksburg and 26 nieces and nephews.

Her parents, brothers Claude and Paul Wengerd, sister Phyllis Weaver, nieces Wilma Weaver and Waneta Hoover , nephew Marlin (Bud) Miller preceded her in death
