Alvin P. Shreve, 77, of Sullivan, ?passed away Monday, September 24, 2007 at Meadowview Care Center in Seville.
He was born July 20, 1930, in Oakland, Maryland to Otis and Virginia Alice Shreve who precede him in death.
His wife Cora A. (Porter) Shreve preceded him in death in 2004 after 40 years of marriage. ?They married on October 1, 1963.
Alvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. ?He was an avid fisherman. ?He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling to Alaska and Canada. ?He retired from PFI Machine in Wellington.
He will be deeply missed by daughters Rebeca (William) Buchanan of Bailey Lakes, Theresa (Richard) Darr of Mount Morris, PA, Noreen & Lavon Shreve both of Florida; sons Robert Shreve and Randy Shreve both of Columbus, Terry Shreve of Florida.; nine grandchildren; brothers Norman (Leslie) Shreve of Wellington, Leon (Sonya) Shreve of Oakland, Maryland; and special friends James (Mable) Knowlton, Bill (Linda) Porter, and those from Meadowview Care Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home -- Ashland Chapel, 1058 U.S. 250 West, Ashland with Pastor John Castle officiating. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park where military rites will be given. ?Friends may visit with the family on Friday one hour before the funeral service at Roberts Funeral Home.
