Antoinette “Ann” G. Rabito, 89, of Ashland, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 4, 2011, at the Applewood Estates, Freehold, NJ.
Ann was born and raised in Newark, she lived with her husband Tom and family in Belleville for many years prior to moving to Ohio 42 years ago.
She was a former member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Nutley, NJ and a parishioner at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, Ashland, OH. She was involved in many church and community groups and committees.
Ann was a homemaker who loved to cook and volunteer her time. She started a gourmet cooking club over 40 years ago which is still in existence today. Ann was at her best in the kitchen. She loved entertaining and setting the most amazing tables surrounded by festive decorations. She was a member of the Welcome Wagon Club of Ashland, OH. a volunteer for the Columbus Hospital in Newark and an avid card player and member of several bridge clubs in Ashland. She was like a mother to many friends and relatives in both NJ and Ohio.
Predeceased by her husband Thomas G. Rabito; parents Anna and Gaetano Caputo, and brother, Dr. Anthony Caputo, she is survived by her son, Dr. George T. Rabito and his wife Sherise Ritter; grandson, Michael Rabito and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in New Jersey to be announced
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00am at St. Edward’s Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, OH. Entombment will follow in the Ashland County Memorial
Park.
Friends and Family may call Sunday, from 2-4 pm at the Roberts Funeral Home - Ashland Chapel , 1058 St Rt 250 N, Ashland, OH.
