Ardith L. Horst, 84, of Wooster died Saturday, May 6, 2006 at West View Manor. ?Services will be Thursday at 10am at the Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Pastor Robert Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. ?Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Online tributes may be made at www.robertsfuneralhome.com . Ardith was born March 15, 1922 in Orrville to Louis and Louisa Mae {Soper} Geiser. ?She married Vernon Horst on February 9, 1945. He survives. ?She graduated from Orrville High School in 1941 and owned Ardie's Snack Shop in Madisonburg for about 8 years. ?Ardie then moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana and worked for Kingsford Meats, retiring in 1984 after 16 years of service.
She attended Grace Brethren Church and enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles and teaching Sunday school.
Surviving in addition to her husband of over 60 years are daughter Louise (Carl) Hochstetler of Wooster; grandchildren Rita (Tim) Varner and Paula (Brian) Rooker all of Wooster; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Elizabeth Rooker and Maxine Varner; brother Donald (Emma) Geiser of Orrville; sisters Dorothy Dinaro of North Carolina and Mary (David) Holderman of Orrville.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Iva Nierman.
