Barbara Velloney

Barbara (Yannie) Velloney, 70, beloved mother of Mark and beloved grandmother of Alexandra Marie, Chase Robert, Tiffani Naomi, passed away into God’s hands on July 8 due to complications from a stroke.



Barbara was born in Cleveland on April 9, 1940, graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School, and received a B.S. in Education at Wittenberg University where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She taught second, fifth, and sixth grade classes in the Greenville, OH, Barberton and Chippewa school districts. She was also a member of Barberton Crescent Club, Wadsworth Women’s Club and was Co-President of the PTA at Hazel Harvey Elementary in Doylestown.



She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Schimkola, father, Luke Yannie, and aunts Evangeline and Anna. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert, son Mark (Cheryl). Grandchildren, Alexa, Chase and Tiffani, aunt Frances and four cousins, George (Huck), Holly, Heather, and Mark.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 am at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville, with Pastor Joseph Ertl officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 2-5 pm at the funeral home.
