Bernard Ray Paugh, 83, of Wooster died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Smithville Western Care Center. ?Services will be Monday at 2:00 P.M. ?at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel with Pastor Steve Kern officiating. ?Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. ?Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. He was born March 28, 1923 in New Geneva, Pennsylvania to James Burton and Sophia Karlan Paugh. ?He married Wilma Sheppard Plant on October 12, 1994. ?She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII serving in the 26th Infantry Division in Europe. ?He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was a TV serviceman most recently for the former Imhoff and Long Company of Wooster, retiring in 1988.
Surviving in addition to his wife are step-children Randy (Linda) Plant, Rod Plant and Lynee (Bill) McDaid all of Wooster and six ?step-grandchildren.
A son Bernard "Bernie" Ray Paugh, II, sisters Venus Morris, Evelyn Kauffman, Dorothy Tanner and Beatrice Blaney, and half brother Orvale Barrickman died previously.
