Bessie Bentz

Bessie Marie Ebersole Bentz, 87, of West View Manor Nursing Home in Wooster, passed away Tuesday April 14, 2009. Born Bessie Marie Ebersole on August 23, 1921 to the late Ada (Wilson) and Arthur Ebersole near Beach City, Ohio. She was married to Henry Bentz on April 2, 1940.

For many years she was employed in the Food Service Area at the College of Wooster. Her great fondness for flowers was evident at all her homes.

Local services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 11:00am with Rev. Eric Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Surviving are nieces Joyce King, Janice Eckert, Jane Smith, Judy Schar, Bertha Parsons and Bessie Cox, many grand and great grand nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Iva Bentz and Erma Dilyard, brother-in-law Melvin Bentz and children and grandchildren of Iva, Erma and Melvin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband Henry, son Mark, sister Geneva Strauss, brothers Noel and Arthur Jr. Ebersole, niece Ada Mullet, sisters-in-law Nora Stewart and Velma Arbaugh, brothers-in-law Ellsworth Bentz, Daniel Bentz and Richard Bentz. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
