Billy D. Rogers, 83, of North Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Wooster, died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. ?Services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. Dr. Thomas Shaw officiating. ?Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens where military rites will be held. ?Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was born February 23, 1923 in Adario, Ohio to Ora and Rhea (Sheller) Rogers. ?He married Velma Hawley on August 23, 1946. ?She died September 23, 1992. ?He then married Wanda Blough on December 21, 1993. ?She survives. ?
He served in the U. S. Army. ?He was the owner of Rogers Overhead Door Company for 24 years, retiring in 1985. ?He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Wooster, American Legion in Creston and the VFW Post 1067 in Ashland.
Surviving are children David Rogers, Joyce (Gene) Varns all of Wooster and Barbara Rogers of Portage Lakes, stepdaughter Judy (Richard) Beckett of Missouri, 3 grandchildren and 1 step-grandson.
His step-grandson Scott Beckett and brothers James, Earl and Charles Rogers died previously.
