Brent Herrold

Brent Kridler Herrold, 65, of Wooster, Ohio died at home Tuesday, Feb 8, 2011 after a sudden illness. Brent was born April 21, 1945 in Canton Ohio, the son of the late Girard M. Herrold and Dorothy A. Herrold. He was a 1962 graduate of Glenwood High School in Canton and a 1967 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.


After graduation from OWU he taught school in Monroe, Michigan, before moving to Mansfield in 1973. He lived most of his adult life in Mansfield where he and his brother owned and operated a NAPA Auto Parts business. After retirement from the auto parts business, Brent returned to school and became a massage therapist. He practiced for 8 years in the Wooster area.


Brent and his wife, Sally Zimmerman, have made Wooster their home for the last 11 years. Brent has been active in both the Mansfield and Wooster communities as a member of Rotary International. He was a volunteer at the Startzman Free Clinic, with the Listen Ears program at STEPS, at Every Woman’s House and was a supporter of the Wayne County Children’s Advocacy Center. He was an avid cyclist and a member of the Blu Team riding for the MS Foundation. He loved to ski, enjoyed running and completed his first half marathon in October, 2010, running the distance with his brother.



Brent is survived by his wife, three children Stephanie (Jeff) Weber of Temperance, Michigan, Adam (Kristen) Herrold of Cincinnati and Nathan Herrold of Fayetteville, West Virginia, and three step-sons, Matt, Scott and Adam Zimmerman, and three grandchildren Carter, Jackson and Sophie Weber and brother Dan (Mary Lou) Herrold of Mansfield. He approached life with a loving heart and spread good humor and good will wherever he went. Brent will be missed by all his family and friends.


Services and calling hours will be at Roberts Funeral Home Sherwood Chapel. Calling hours will be from 5pm to 8pm Friday February 11th and the memorial service will be Saturday, February 12th at 1pm.
