Carl D. Still Jr., 79 of Shreve went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 19, 2007. Services will be on Monday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home Sherwood Chapel with Rev. Dan Wingate officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call today between 4-6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central, Ohio Inc. 1605 Ashland Co. Rd. 1095 Ashland, Ohio 44805.
Carl was born October 4, 1927 in Burbank, Ohio to Carl and Ruth (Collins) Still. Carl married Jewel Bistor on April 4, 1947. They had four children and she preceded him in death in 2001. He then married Ladonna Osburn on July 20, 1972. She survives.
Carl was employed at PCA in Rittman for 27 years. He was the manager of Spring Lake Development Corporation where he assisted in the development of Spruce Tree Village Mobile Home Community and Golf Course for over 20 years. Carl and Ladonna owned and operated Still's Guest House for seniors in Lakeland, Florida for 13 years.
Carl was a member of West Hill Baptist Church. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed golfing, gardening, and boating. He was a strong-willed, fun-loving, and hard-working man who was deeply loved by all who knew him and will live on in the memory of his family and friends forever.
In addition to his wife Ladonna are children David C. (Jeannette) Still of Burbank, Vicki (Ray) Akers of Polk, Steven W. (Bev) Still of Ashland, Ronald G. (Joyce) Osburn of Millersburg and James B. (Deb) of Apple Creek, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, brothers Louie (Norma) Still, Charles (Kathy) Still, both of Wooster and sister Olive Pender of Mississippi.
His first wife Jewel, a son Larry, brothers Paul, Donald, and Marvin, and sisters Pauline Crosky, Margaret Premer, and Eleanor Richards, preceded Carl in death.
